Workspace Design, Build-out and Move Services - Complete Project Management for Clayton Associates

In the midst of an already busy workload, the tasks associated with moving an entire office can be overwhelming. 
 
Clayton Associates, however, was able to coordinate everything – workspace design, purchase of new furnishings and installation, moving crate rental, and complete move services – through one contact at MyOfficeProducts which partnered with Rentacrate Complete Move Services and designWorks to deliver a true end-to-end experience. As units of HiTouch Business Services, each division worked seamlessly with the others, as business processes and shared vision already were in place. The result? Savings in cost, time and effort. 
 
“We didn’t have to worry about everyone getting on the same page, or everyone’s schedules coordinating to fit ours,” said Lauretta Cole, controller at Clayton Associates, a Nashville-based investment firm that focuses on healthcare and technology companies. “It was a very simple process. And we loved it.” 
Moves hadn’t always gone so smoothly. 
 
A few years prior, another move brought the company more than $50,000 in damage to furniture. “It took close to a year to get everything fixed,” Cole said. “So it was something we were nervous about from the start.” But since Clayton Associates already had a longstanding relationship with MyOfficeProducts as a supplier, when the need for another move became apparent, the possibilities for growing that relationship—and calming company nerves—deepened. 
 
Lane Thomas, MyOfficeProducts VP of fulfillment, and leader of the company’s Source • Store • Supply division, said it’s not unusual for MyOfficeProducts and other arms of HiTouch Business Services to join forces. With more than 60 locations across the country and nu­merous regional warehouses, MyOfficeProducts is well accustomed to meeting diverse customer needs, whatever they may be. The Clayton Associates effort, however, was a more complete package—and a clear picture of what MyOfficeProducts can do. Rentacrate delivered plastic bins and dollies to the old Clayton office for packing.
 
“This experience reinforced the HiTouch Business Services value proposition to me,” said Thomas, who served as Cole’s one point of contact throughout the transition. “Lauretta would call me with whatever issue she had, and it was immediately off of her plate, and mine to take care of. We want to be able to offer everything a customer needs, from items for the coffee and break room to printer management, and to do so with a level of expertise and professionalism that matches or exceeds any other competitor out there.  It’s all related when it comes to office needs.” 
 
Cole, meanwhile, is enjoying her new office space and still “can’t say enough” about the positive experience in getting there. As part of the move, Rentacrate provided crates, dollies and project coordination; designWorks assisted with furniture selection, including offering Clayton Associates representatives a trip to the manufacturer to see just the right pieces first-hand; and the end result included new furnish­ings, desks, glass-front wall-mounted storage shelves, file cabinets, chairs and reception area. 
 
“Our new space is so much more open and airy feeling,” Cole said. “We love it. And we would never do another move without having one person to call. There are so many little things that can come up…. We would just never go another way.” 
“Our team listened to the customer’s goals and aspirations for their new building, examined their work-flow needs and gained a distinctly intimate understanding of the image that they wanted to portray to their customers. 
 
“The Clayton Associates project called for a refined, contemporary furniture choice that would work with some of the firm’s existing more traditional furniture pieces,” stated designer Teri Bryan of designWorks, “We selected the Gesso line from Indiana Furniture because it provided beautiful lines and finish options and worked perfectly to achieve the client’s desired result.” 
 
“We offered a consultative solution for the furnishings, the relocation of their offices, move management for their employees, and a customer-driven creation of the new, ideal environment for their business needs,”  added Dwayne Deal, Division Vice President, designWorks.
